This turquoise colored Matcha Bowl is thought to be made in the Kyoto prefecture more than 50 years ago.
The pottery style in Kyoto is called ‘Kyo-Yaki’. Kyo-Yaki are ceramic works of art that illustrate the scenery of the four seasons in Kyoto or feature drawings that bring good luck.
The DŌ HARU Matcha Bowl displays a unique panther like texture with bright pink and turquoise colors on the exterior of the bowl.
We named this bowl ‘DŌ HARU’ (copper spring) due to the unique patern of the bowl which resembles the look of oxidated copper. If you zoom in on the patern of the bowl the patern might look like a field with flowers.
